This book is a compilation of articles presented at the National Level Seminar organized by V.M. Salgaocar College of Law in association with Ismilda Research Consultancy. Portuguese, once the official language of Estado da India, was to a large extent the repository of its peoples’ traditional as well as acquired knowledge. It was an instrument that people used, not only to preserve through it their valued traditions, such as the literature, folklore, uses and customs of the land, but also to produce literary, philosophical, political, legal, cultural and other works that earned them credit. This book advocates the use of this rich and still veiled treasure to convert Goa into a research hub. For this, Goa can use its historical link, its west–east image as Rome of the East and Khasi of the South, which is intrinsically webbed into the romantic Lendas da India. About the Author Dr Carmo D’Souza (M.Sc. B.Ed. LL.M. Ph.D. (Laws)) is a Retired Professor and Hon. Director of Ismilda Research Consultancy.
