About the Author

JOSEPH FURTADO (1872–1945) is one of the earliest but least-known Indian English poets, who was born in Goa and lived much of his creative life there. Embedded deep in Furtado’s prose and verse, which are brought together in this volume of his collected works, are the images of a Goa that once was. Divided in two parts – the novel Golden Goa! and a collection of poems – the book revives a forgotten literary virtuoso for readers today.
