An oral approach to historiography created a paradigm shift from the interpreter to the source where oral testimonies from the people associated with the historical event was recorded by the historian with little scope for his own interpretation of the subject. Dr.Sujata Menon, an oral historian is presently engaged with the task of interviewing and collecting oral testimonies of freedom fighters of Gujarat. The objective behind collecting these oral testimonies is to enrich the reading on the national freedom struggle through vibrant life stories of individual participants of the struggle.
